What is an Ultrasound?

An ultrasound is a safe and simple procedure that uses sound waves to provide more information about your pregnancy. It can help determine the location of the pregnancy and give an estimate of how many weeks you may be pregnant.

With an ultrasound, you’ll learn:

If you have a viable pregnancy
How far along you are
The size of your baby
And—most importantly—whether there is a heartbeat
